Awkward Silence is a new 7" label our of Kent, England. The Arovane/Christian Kleine split 7" contains two tracks, yeer & disper, and is their first release. It was supposed to come out early 2000 so it still may be making it's way through distro channels. The second Awkward Silence release, which should be available at the same time as the Arovane/Kleine split, is a split 7" by Yellow6 & Portal. Awkward 02 is the first of a two part set, where for the first part yellow6 provided the original track and Portal created a reworked version for the b-side, but without hearing the original! They just swapped chord charts and started from scratch and the results are very interesting! Awkward 03 (the second part) has the lead track supplied by Portal with the reworked version by y6 and the chord charts will be included with the records, so everyone can say how it was done... This second part will be released in February 2000. Awkward 04 will be a split from Tarentel & Lilienthal. Generally, the releases will be editions of 500 or 1,000 with limited represses to follow if necessary. There's 1,000 of the Arovane/Kleine split, 500 of each of the y6/Portal and there will be 1,000 for Tarentel/Lilienthal.
